On this home page, we'll introduce KENNY REDON one of Cleveland Ohio's best R & B GUITARIST,VOCALIST,SONGWRITER,PRODUCERS.

STAR QUALITY WITH CLASS

KENNY started performing in 1971 with a teenage group called THE PONDEROSA TWINS, they had a million selling recording called "YOU SEND ME"on HOROSCOPE RECORDS and "BOUND TO FALL IN LOVE" . Recorded and produced by ex OJAYS member (BOBBY MASSEY )& (CHUCK BROWN executive producer). For All Platinum Records out of New Jersey, ran by Slyvia & Joe Robinson
Ken toured the east coast playing guitar with the Ponderosa Twins, playing on shows with groups like THE MOMENTS, JAMES BROWN, KOOL & THE GANG,GLADYS KNIGHT & THE PIPS, AL GREEN, THE FUNKADELIC, THE ISLEY BROTHERS to name a few.
After there songs faded he played with his own band THE 9TH ST. EXIT produced by (DUNN PEARSON) & (Lymon Moffiat executive producer ). They had a 45 out, in 1973 "SWEET HARMONY" and in 1974 " 9TH ST" for Solid Foundation Records out of Cleveland. The songs are now a collectors items in England.
After touring with the 9th St. Exit Band From 73-79. Ken decided to try other avenues of music.
So from 1980-1982 he played Gong Shows, Bars,Cabrets & Private Parties. Here he met alot of talented entertainers and  even played guitar for BILLY PAUL ("ME & MRS JONES") Also played guitar with LARRY HANCOCK'S (TRUTH ) another BOBBY MASSEY singing group on the Devka Label. Ken claims the best live r&b entertainer in Cleveland at that time was Jimmy St. Clair a local vocalist who was all heart.
But the grammy winning  Dazz Band ran Cleveland then. And Scott & Raven where right behind them. Then Levert came out and Gerald's been on top ever since.
During that time, he decided to go to the recording studio on his own. Along with Anthony Howard & Booker T. Hollins.
So with a financial help from Bill Branch ART SEAFOOD restaurant owner he produced a local band called The FORCE in 1983 his first 12" deal was with Becket Records out of N.Y. featuring Sherena Wynn
on vocals and Russell Thompson Jr. on sax on a song called "IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT" Becket catalog number (BKD 515).

In 1986 He got a deal with Prelude Records and recorded "SUPERSTAR". By FORCE & MASTERJAM one of the very first Rap & Vocal tunes of that time. Featuring Tony Henderson on the rap and Russell Thompson Jr. on the sax and Tommy Miller on the sequencers, Kenny Redon wrote and did the vocals. SUPERSTAR is still being sold on a PRELUDE RARE VOLUME NO. 5 Box CD @BUYMUSICBYMAIL.COM
