like THE MOMENTS, JAMES BROWN, KOOL & THE GANG,GLADYS KNIGHT & THE PIPS, AL GREEN, THE FUNKADELIC, THE ISLEY BROTHERS to
name a few.
After there songs faded he played with his own band THE 9TH ST.

After touring with the 9th St. Exit Band From 73-79. Ken decided to try other
avenues of music.
So from 1980-1982 he played Gong Shows, Bars,Cabrets & Private Parties. Here he met alot
of talented entertainers and even played guitar for BILLY PAUL ("ME & MRS JONES") Also played guitar with LARRY
HANCOCK'S (TRUTH ) another BOBBY MASSEY singing group on the Devka Label. Ken claims the best live r&b entertainer in
Cleveland at that time was Jimmy St. Clair a local vocalist who was all heart.
But the grammy winning Dazz Band ran Cleveland then. And Scott & Raven
where right behind them. Then Levert came out and Gerald's been on top ever since.
During that time, he decided to go to the recording studio on his own. Along with Anthony Howard
& Booker T. Hollins.
So with a financial help from Bill Branch ART SEAFOOD restaurant owner he produced a local band
called The FORCE in 1983 his first 12" deal was with Becket Records out
of N.Y. featuring Sherena Wynn
on vocals and Russell Thompson Jr. on sax on a song called "IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT" Becket catalog
